Smarty Pants

Ellie has been such a little busy body lately, now that she's walking all over the place. She's always loved getting into things (drawers, cupboards, baskets, bins, etc.).
But today she came walking in to me with an armful of diapers. She's never gotten into her diaper basket before, so I was a little surprised to see she'd emptied it out.

I had just changed her and didn't smell anything stinky, but decided to check her diaper anyway. And sure enough, my little smarty pants, had a little poopy in her pants.
Watching her get smarter and smarter just never gets old.

Home Sweet Home

I have always loved my house, even with all of its flaws. I guess I could always see its potential. I haven't even minded its maroon and gold shell. But now the warm-fuzzy, homey feel in the inside, is on the outside too. It's amazing what a little paint can do.

The Big Numero Uno.

I can't believe my little baby Ellie is already one. It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital and adjusting to everything that comes with having a brand new baby. And now she's her own little person, learning new stuff and growing up more and more every day. I sound like such a parent.

And to my little Ellie,
You bring so much to our little family. Sometimes lots crazy mealtimes and I refuse to go to sleep nap times, but mostly lots of happy, being together with family times. And I LOVE happy, being together with family times. It's also great to watch you cheer people up wherever we go, when you smile and wave, or just sit there and look cute. You are such a blessing, and we can't imagine life without you.

I know Ellie can't read yet, but give her another year or so...or whenever.

Yeah for parties!
Thanks to all the fam for coming.

Ellie wasn't so interest in the sun-melted, cherry chip cupcakes.

But after a poke or two...

she decided to go for it.

It couldn't be so bad if Dad was doing it.

We'll expect a big more of a mess for next year.

Right Mabel?

Everyone loves a good cupcake.
